The Athena Robotic Club Gears Up for Competition

The Greece Gladiators Robotics Team would like to let you know about the FIRST Robotics Competition at Rochester Institution of Technology.


The students are broken up into sub-teams of Mechanical, Electrical, CAD, Programming and Marketing have been working hard to prepare a robot to compete in a competition recognized internationally. Designed to introduce high school students to the area of science, engineering and technology by offering them the opportunity to build a robot and compete against other participating schools. The mission of the organization is to “inspire innovation and foster self-confidence, communication and leadership” in young people. To qualify in the competition you must construct a robot within six weeks, to complete a task that is announced at the beginning of the competition. Our Robotics club will take on other teams from areas as far as Ohio, Canada and Maine. The event will be Thursday, March 27th through Saturday the 29th in the Gordon Field House at RIT from 9:00am-5:00pm. For more information you can visit our website by clicking here.
