Mr. Palermo comes to us with a wealth of experience and knowledge.  He has been an administrator for 8 years in the Rochester City School District, most recently at School #2 where he helped prepare students for success in the transition to high school with an ultimate focus on laying the foundation for college and career readiness. He has extensive knowledge and proven leadership abilities in the areas of Common Core, RtI, PBIS and the APPR process.  He will use his experience and passion for ensuring that all students learn at high levels to continue to support the students and staff at Athena.  He will oversee the 10th grade class and students in the 9th grade class with the last names beginning with A – G.  Although he will be supporting all departments, he will be working most closely with teachers from the Special Education, Art, Psychologist,Speech and Reading departments.

Although he will not be officially joining us until the 13th of September, he has already begin spending time at Athena, and has begun to visit student’s homes to introduce himself and get to know our community. Stay tuned for more information about Mr. Palermo in the days ahead.
