The Athena Twilight Academy – A More Clearly Defined Process

As we continue to focus on ensuring that all student learn at high levels, we continue to refine our process of interventions.  Twilight will now be expanding to include both rooms 201 & 205.  It will also be expanding to include both Previous Quarter Recovering and Current Quarter Support.

Previous Quarter Recovery (Room 205): Every student who fails a quarter of a core area class can be assigned by an administrator to recover the learning during 5th block.  This intervention is not new, however the process has been refined and revamp.

Current Quarter Support (Room 201): This intervention will look a bit like “Homework Detention”, and can be used by an teacher who has a student who is at risk of failing a current quarter do to missing assignments. This intervention will be offered on A & C days during 5th block.

These shifts will be put in place for the second semester to increase our ability to ensure the following core values at Athena High School:

  • Each student can learn at high levels
  • Each student may need differing supports and interventions
  • The consequence of not learning… must be learning
  • The consequence of not doing the work… must be doing the work
